Hi, I'm Deborah.

I am an ICF accredited coach working with adults through significant life transitions - retirement, identity shifts, career change, loss, and the particular challenges that come with later life. I also specialise in neurodiversity coaching for adults navigating ADHD, autism, or related differences.

If something has brought you here, I'd welcome a conversation.

My approach

Coaching with me is practical and forward-looking. I am interested in what is actually getting in the way - not just the surface presenting problem, but the patterns underneath it. Why the same thing keeps happening. Why knowing what to do and doing it can feel so far apart.

My coaching is informed by psychodynamic thinking, which means I pay attention to the relational and emotional dimensions of the challenges you bring, not just the logistical ones. We might work on structure, clarity, and concrete next steps - and we will also make room for what those practical difficulties might be telling us about something deeper.

This is particularly useful for adults navigating neurodiversity, later life transitions, or any moment where the usual tools have stopped working and something more reflective feels necessary.

Experience
& Background

Clinical work:
I hold an Honorary Psychotherapist position at an NHS North London Foundation Trust, and have completed specialist training at Third Age Counselling, a service for adults over 60. I also work in addiction family support and volunteer with Childline (NSPCC).

Research and recognition:
I was a panellist for the Birkbeck Centre for Counselling Annual Conference speaking about my clinical experience of  psychotherapy and older adults and institutional ageism. This is being prepared for publication.

Training and qualifications:
ICF certified coach
Final year: MSc Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, Birkbeck, University of London (Predicted: distinction)
Graduate Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling and Group Processes
BA History and Sociology, University of Manchester: First Class Honours
PGCE, Institute of Education

Before retraining, I spent a decade in programme management and community coordination, including roles at the British Council, Google, and The Royal Warrant Holders Association. I came to this work deliberately, and that earlier life informs how I understand transition, identity, and what it means to change direction.
